Inequality
Throughout his career, Ricardo has consistently centered his efforts on addressing inequality. In his early roles, he conducted vital research at the Inter-American Development Bank, focusing on income poverty, social mobility, and job security. Furthering his commitment to the cause, he took up the position of Director of Statistical Analysis at the Ministry of Social Development.
Between 2004 and 2012, as a Senior Researcher and Economic Advisor for the United Nations Development Programme, Ricardo played an instrumental role in multiple Human Development Reports for UNDP and made noteworthy contributions to the World Bank's World Development Report.
At Oxfam Great Britain, Ricardo led the intellectual strategy for the global campaign "Even it up". Under his guidance, the campaign shed light on pivotal issues like wage disparity, gender justice, and fiscal reform. As the Executive Director of Oxfam Mexico, he significantly enhanced the organization's public image, positioning it as a key player against inequalities. His report "Working for the Few" not only marked the start of an influential series on inequality for Oxfam but also garnered attention from world leaders like Barack Obama, Christine Lagarde, and Bernie Sanders.
